  1. I was entertained by your Lovecraft discussion, but I’m rather bemused by your lack of awareness of the world of Lovecraft fandom, entertainment, audio, gaming, video and literature prior to 2010.

As a Lovecraftian fan and collector, for nearly 45 years, I can tell you that those of us attending Lovecraftian conventions in the 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s, and 2000’s, all over the country, have rooms in our homes full of “stuff” from a Lifetime of collecting Lovecraft, even from before 2010.

The last six years, have NOT been the Golden Age of Lovecraft collecting, but have merely been a continuation of decades of growing Lovecraft awareness.

Look into the history of the Amateur Press Association, known as the Esoteric Order of Dagon (E.O.D.), which has been active since the 1970’s, and you’ll find many of the greatest Lovecraftian scholars of today, have been researching and writing about Lovecraftian matters every decade since then. You’ll also find out that S. T. Joshi, in Seattle, is the current Editor for the still-active group.

A little about myself: I was one of those in the 1970’s who helped pay to finally get a Headstone on Lovecraft’s grave; and I was also there in Providence in 1990 for the Centennial Celebration and unveiling of the Lovecraft Memorial Plaque next to the John Hay Library of Brown University.

I’m also known for my CthulhuWho1 blog, CthulhuWho1 Flickr pages, and my CthulhuWho1 YouTube page; and in recent years I founded, and have been the Admin for The World of Lovecraft Audio and The Lovecraft Related Press Releases Facebook groups.

If either one of you joins either of the above mentioned Facebook groups, I will send you a Welcome message which will include many Lovecraftian links for you; and I hope you’ll post about any of your future Lovecraftian podcasts in the Audio group too.

    1. Wow! Thank you for this, this is the kind of interaction we enjoy. We appreciate you giving us a listen and sharing with us! While we were aware of some groups and cons, I personally was not aware of the length of time they had been around. I personally enjoy the world of Lovecraft on a casual level, while Jared is very much the hardcore Lovecraft enthusiast. While I myself did not know of the vast history of Lovecraft collecting, Jared might. I sincerely want to take the time to thank you for listening and posting!

  2. Wow, Will.
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to leave such an illuminating comment.
Secondly, I have to plead ignorance here. I suppose part of my incapability of tracking down Lovecraft related items before 2010 was due to my being located in a rather rural area and having nowhere near the community available in other places. I can chalk it up to that, but I was simply ignorant of the existence of all of these excellent resources that you’ve made us aware of, here.
It’s quite obvious that you know your stuff, and I will always defer to someone with more knowledge in an area than myself. In college I studied and wrote extensively on the writing, but had no idea that there was such a wealth of material available, even then. You’ve definitely opened my eyes a bit!
Lastly, would you be interested in doing an interview on a future episode of “Restruck”? Your insights could definitely “set the record straight,” as it were, and the last thing we (or our corporate masters) want to do is misinform.
I’ve sent you some requests through social media, and look forward to getting in touch!
